US sanctions mean no big oil company can risk doing business with Iran, Total CEO says

  • Large energy companies cannot risk doing business in Iran in light of U.S. sanctions on the country, Total CEO Patrick Pouyanne says.
  • Total positioned itself to develop part of the largest natural gas field in the world after the 2015 Iran nuclear deal lifted sanctions on Tehran.
